Farzana Hoque, MD, MRCP, FACP, FRCP
Dr. Farzana Hoque is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Co-Director of Acting Internship at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She also serves as the inaugural Medical Director of Bordley Tower at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital.
Dr. Hoque’s parents are lawyers. Her beloved mother always believed that Medicine is one of the most fascinating, intriguing careers one can ever have. Dr. Hoque’s mother’s values inspired and pushed her to do her best every day to become the first physician in her extended family. Dr. Hoque earned an MD in medicine through the 6-year program from the University of Dhaka, which is the most prestigious university in Bangladesh. She was in the top 5% of her class. After that, Dr. Hoque completed post-graduation residency training in Internal Medicine in the United States of America.
She practiced medicine as an Attending Physician in Bangladesh & elected as a Fellow of Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons. She is also an elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Royal College of Physicians of UK. Dr. Hoque is the President of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) St. Louis Chapter.
An extensive lecturer, Dr. Hoque presents regionally, nationally, and internationally on topics including heart failure, emotional intelligence, malpractice prevention, visual diagnosis, leadership, pre-operative management, anticoagulation, and patient experience. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial board for SGIM Forum, Interactive Journal of Medical Research, and is a Deputy Editor of the Journal of BMANA.
